This hotel offers great value for money, with comfortable rooms and basic amenities. The location is very convenient, with the West Coast Wilderness Railway station nearby and stunning mountain views. The staff provides excellent service and attention to detail, including a common kitchen for breakfast preparation. Plus, the rooms with the deluxe bathrooms are absolutely luxurious, complete with double baths.
Wifi access was limited, which could be improved.

This b&b is currently being renovated by Joy, the owner, and we were more than happy with our room which had a very modern shower/toilet area. The b&b is a lovely old home which Joy is "doing up" beautifully. The self serve breakfast was good with facilities to allow you to do your own thing with oven, microwave and fridge available for guests use. A good reasonably priced base for heading down to Strahan to do the Gordon River cruise (45 minute drive). (Queenstown is a very sleepy little town)

The owner had gone to a lot of trouble to create a homely atmosphere, with great attention to detail. I admired her gumption to get up and make something of her life.

We loved the location of the hotel as it was very close to everything in the city center. Additionally, we were impressed with the cleanliness and facilities of this hotel, especially the breakfast and staff.
No complaints.

The helpful information received from the proprietor prior to travel.
The room and external bathroom, in which we were accommodated, were disappointing and not to the standard displayed in the advertising. We received better value at other accommodation in which we stayed in Tasmania. It was the only accom. requiring full payment in advance.

The hotel is very close to everything, making it convenient for exploring the town and its attractions. Additionally, the location is great as it is near the Railway Station, allowing easy access to the steam train ride to Strahan. The rooms are spacious with two bedrooms, providing ample space for comfort. Moreover, the bathroom is a highlight, with a massive luxurious double bath that adds a touch of indulgence to the stay. Lastly, the breakfast included in the room is satisfactory, although bacon would be a welcome addition.
No improvements needed; everything was just fine.

Mt Lyell Anchorage was such a pleasant surprise. Beautiful heritage house, 1 & 2 Bedroom stand alone cottages to choose from. Run by owner/occupier (cottage next door) and has been self-renovated with lots of love and an eye for detail. Fantastic for a family to use the cottage as a base to explore the Queenstown/Strahan area or couples for some time away from the hustle and bustle in the 'big house'. We stayed two nights instead of the original one night booking. Loved the place :) and glad to have met Joy the owner.

Close to the Wild Rivers National Park. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our host was lovely and very helpful.
The kitchen is large, but communal and this may not be ideal for those wanting some privacy.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The attention to detail throughout was impeccable. From the beautiful old well restored property to the homestyle kitchen where breakfast was prepared, everything was just perfect. The location couldn't have been better - it was very close to everything, including the Scenic Railway in the center of town. The staff were lovely, friendly, and personable. And the deluxe bathroom in my room was incredibly luxurious, with a double bath that made for a truly relaxing experience. Plus, having breakfast included was a great bonus, although I wished it could have included bacon.
All was great - nothing to improve!

Stayed here over Easter and enjoyed two great aspects – free laundry service and the use of a kitchen and lounge area anytime. The location is really ideal for exploring the surrounding area. , the general cleanliness and character of the place was a plus.
The town seemed to have some difficulties since the railway closed, which had a negative impact. the breakfast was a bit lacking - I missed having plain oats for porridge.

The breakfast offered a decent variety of food and included coffee and tea. The location was convenient for exploring the town and the surrounding area. We enjoyed the herb garden on site and being able to use the fresh herbs in our meals.
The room was way overpriced for what was offered. There was no Christmas spirit;

Almost perfect.

The hotel had a convenient location close to the West Coast Wilderness Railway station and the town centre. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with spacious bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a homely feel and was served in a well-equipped kitchen.
The hotel lacked a dining table and cooking facilities in some of its cottages.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
